Does It Matter To Remember?

Throughout the school's existence, Ilocos Sur National High School always celebrates its Foundation Day. From the year 1903, until the present year which is 2023, the school never failed to celebrate its most important event. 121 years of witnessing wars, plagues, pandemics, and crises that disrupt the city of Vigan. In the present year, the DepEd, including ISNHS, is going through an educational crisis making the year harder than usual. Despite all of that, nothing really stopped us from remembering that significant date, the date that this school started to produce hope: Nation's Hope, World's Future.

ISNHS' Foundation Day is celebrated every year, not only for us to remember the day, but for us to remember what it is all about. The school's slogan "Soar, Fly, Aim High" is embodied by us, students, thanks to the yearly reminder. We continue to soar and stand out in the crowd of brains. Continuously flying above expectations and obstructions that the world throws. Still aiming high heights of success and keeping the hunger in us. Foundation Day is about maintaining what we had for the past decades and centuries, continuing to attain the values that we embrace, achieve greatness and produce new seedlings of hope.

This event may be an ordinary one for some, but for students, teachers, alumnus and alumnae, who dove in the depths of the ocean, it's more than a celebration, it's a RAM: stored with memories, good values, and characteristics instilled in us. Without this yearly celebration, a lot of us may fail to continue on what we strive for, on what we fight for, something we prepare for the future. If we fail to remember, will the memories matter? It wont, so always remember.

  1. What an astonishing and simply wonderful analogy! You made such a pleasant and memorable anecdote that it has made an already special event a hundred times more meaningful. A masterpiece in every depth and crevice, a symphony in every word. Though this had left me speechless and grabbing for words in which I'll never be able to express my amazement in, I just had to hand you my warmest complements for doing such an amazing job at no simple task. You took a gander in this topic in a direction like no other, and it is both my pleasure and honor to follow where you lead.

Giving is Not Only for a Season

Christmas is something celebrated every 25th of December. In the month of September, the rising of Ber Months, and the month where the Christmas countdown kick off. November, the month before the Christmas Season, people starts to buy Christmas decorations and gifts. Parties and Programs are also planned during this time. As we approach the month of December, people starts to sing Christmas carols and decorate houses including streets, as a symbol of the beginning of  Festive Season; The Season of Giving.      A lot of people celebrated Christmas, but not myself and my family. We are members of the Church of Christ and it is against the teachings of our Lord God. However, there is one thing we celebrate during that day, the day of my birth. We may not celebrate Christmas, but we celebrate the day that god decided to bring me into this world. Large feasts and receiving gifts is a part of celebrating it. Out of town trips as well as shopping is also...

Handing Wisdom

Dear Ma'am Evelyn Vera Cruz,                Teaching is not only about discussing about how Internet works, it's about how you give impact and change your student's lives. Before I begin this simple letter for you, I would like to greet you a Wonderful and Joyful Teacher's Day!                Information Communications Technology is one of the subjects that I am not interested. Over the past few years, my grades in ICT is low and that's why I don't really like the subject that much. In the first week of class, you showed me the bright side of the subject you are teaching. Formerly, I usually don't review if there are upcoming quizzes but you fueled me to strive harder and be diligent with my studies. I was then possessed with laziness but because of you constantly reminding us that we should focus and exert more effort for our future, I decided to dismiss my previous actions, behavior, and attitude. I will f...

Voyager 1: Another Journey

Starting another year, beginning another quest in life, that's my own definition of a new year. The past year has been better than 2020, a lot of challenges come on my way but I have paved the way to where I am now. The year 2022 has officially ended, but like the old saying says "He who does not look before him will never reach his destination", at the beginning of this year I will look back at my flaws and achievements. By just looking back at it, you will not reach the destination you want, effort and perseverance to improve day by day will keep you moving. But the real question for improving is, do you have the guts to do it?      For the past few years, I have always wanted change, not only for myself but also for others. Everyone is hungry for change and improvement, but not everyone is willing and possesses the courage to take a step toward it. Last year, I am a coward, one of the people that didn't take a step, but my resolution this year is to...
