Kannawidan is a festival of Ilocos Sur. Many overlook its importance and only view it as a celebration of the province, but if we dig deep, there is something more of it than a celebration. We all know that the world in the past years depend more on globalization resulting to mixture of beliefs due to adaptation of society, this increases the chances of being turned into a multicultural place. The absence of events that embeds our cultural heritage may result into a diversed society, which is negative for a region's identification. Having a diversed type of community is the start of the face being burned and erased. Kannawidan prevents multiculturalism and supports the growth of native culture. Stops the province from losing its mark by always promoting the mark.
A lot might misunderstand the purpose of the festival, but now it is clear to everyone reading this blog that the purpose of it is to marginalize other cultures and preserve the heritage. We should accept globalization, but if our identity is at stake, there is no other thing to do but to protect it. Let us embrace the face of Ilocos Sur. Take care of it because it is something we own. After all, we can't be proud of something we don't have.

Salutations! There is so much I want to say, but, wow. Just, wow. This has left me speechless and gasping for the right words, but I cannot seem to find any. This is such a very heartfelt expression of one's admiration and pride in their very own culture, and it is inspiring in more ways than one. You have proved, time and time again, that only you can show this much eloquence in expressing things that are normally difficult to put into words, yet you never fail to do so with elegance and warming pride. Our shared culture has led me to more than agree with your idea and uncontested love for our culture, and I hope to be able to share the opportunity to celebrate culture, among many others, with you.
