Adapt to Survive

For the past 2 years, our moves, activities and gatherings have been limited by the government because of the crisis the is going through. The Covud-19 pandemic is a menace to society, it broke the natural order of life. Daily activities like, going to work, market, and malls have been prohibited. The schools closed, and forced to adapt to a new form of learning. These things resulted into a new order of life, and until now is observed and practiced.

New order, means new form of learning. The education department left students no choice but to change to modular learning. Learning wasn’t easy for me during that time since I am not used to this. I got distracted by games, social media, and other online activities. I wasn’t learning anything to the point that I thought that I was just wasting my parent’s money. Everyday was a torture for me, my ranking dropped and I was disappointed, I did not imagine myself at that place. My academic life continued to fall and I realized that I wasn’t on track anymore. The boy that was one of the batch’s top student was treated as no one by the teachers. I felt that I was nobody and worthless, they ignored me and decided to put all their attention to well performing students. I was dumped because I am not performing well.

Even though I went through all of those hardships, I managed to get through this phase of my academic life. My friends helped me with my battle and they are the reason I defeated my fears, sadness, and doubts. The modular learning did no good for me, but it did not stop me to continue life. I hold on to something that comforts and motivates me. I talked to people that gave me positive energy because it is what I needed to survive. I believed myself when no one did. I did not fight my battle alone, I have someone, and that someone is me.

Giving is Not Only for a Season

Christmas is something celebrated every 25th of December. In the month of September, the rising of Ber Months, and the month where the Christmas countdown kick off. November, the month before the Christmas Season, people starts to buy Christmas decorations and gifts. Parties and Programs are also planned during this time. As we approach the month of December, people starts to sing Christmas carols and decorate houses including streets, as a symbol of the beginning of  Festive Season; The Season of Giving.      A lot of people celebrated Christmas, but not myself and my family. We are members of the Church of Christ and it is against the teachings of our Lord God. However, there is one thing we celebrate during that day, the day of my birth. We may not celebrate Christmas, but we celebrate the day that god decided to bring me into this world. Large feasts and receiving gifts is a part of celebrating it. Out of town trips as well as shopping is also...

Handing Wisdom

Dear Ma'am Evelyn Vera Cruz,                Teaching is not only about discussing about how Internet works, it's about how you give impact and change your student's lives. Before I begin this simple letter for you, I would like to greet you a Wonderful and Joyful Teacher's Day!                Information Communications Technology is one of the subjects that I am not interested. Over the past few years, my grades in ICT is low and that's why I don't really like the subject that much. In the first week of class, you showed me the bright side of the subject you are teaching. Formerly, I usually don't review if there are upcoming quizzes but you fueled me to strive harder and be diligent with my studies. I was then possessed with laziness but because of you constantly reminding us that we should focus and exert more effort for our future, I decided to dismiss my previous actions, behavior, and attitude. I will f...

Voyager 1: Another Journey

Starting another year, beginning another quest in life, that's my own definition of a new year. The past year has been better than 2020, a lot of challenges come on my way but I have paved the way to where I am now. The year 2022 has officially ended, but like the old saying says "He who does not look before him will never reach his destination", at the beginning of this year I will look back at my flaws and achievements. By just looking back at it, you will not reach the destination you want, effort and perseverance to improve day by day will keep you moving. But the real question for improving is, do you have the guts to do it?      For the past few years, I have always wanted change, not only for myself but also for others. Everyone is hungry for change and improvement, but not everyone is willing and possesses the courage to take a step toward it. Last year, I am a coward, one of the people that didn't take a step, but my resolution this year is to...
